Kicking off the 3-day Memorial Day Weekend, Block No. 16 is pulling out all of the stops on 5/24 — Dancers, Photo Booth, Confetti and more! They’ll be serving up $5 Specialty Cocktails all night, and the keeping the party going into the wee hours of the morning with $77 Bottle Specials with table reservation.

Joining resident DJ Marc Thrasher for the night is DJ Frances! Frances has been playing for over 10 years all around the world and at some of the biggest music festivals including Love Fest, Ultra, Coachella and Electric Daisy Carnival just to name a few. If anyone is able to get the party started, it’s definitely her!

Monarch School and its committed team of teachers, support staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing children impacted by homelessness with an accredited education while caring for their basic needs. Today, more than 175 kids between the ages of 4 and 19 are enrolled at Monarch School.

GTD will provide students with a fun-filled day at Petco Park, starting with a lunch provided by Lucky’s Lunch Counter  followed by a San Diego Padres game! We’re genuinely excited to be working with such a great organization!

Luckily for San Diegans, Entertainment Alley will be celebrating with not only tequila, but tons of other Cinco favorites!

1. Bub’s at the Ballpark 

Bub’s is living up to it’s newly acquired title of Thrillist’s “Best Bar for Day Drinking,” with their upcoming Cinco de Mayo Celebrations. With tequila shot specials, $5 Margs and $4 Dos XX, we’re sure you’ll agree. Did we mention legitimate PIÑATA BASHES from 1-5PM? We repeat, PIÑATA BASHES. It’ll be raining candy (and peanuts) at Bub’s!

2. The Blind Burro 

East Village’s newest hot-spot was MADE for this holiday! The Blind Burro will be celebrating with  Bottomless Sangria Brunch from 10AM-2PM! If Brunch isn’t your thing, BB will be serving up Taco Specials, $4 TJ Dogs and $5 Celebration Margs ALL DAY! And if that STILL didn’t convince you, this will: they’ll have a real, live BURRO hanging out. No big deal. If that doesn’t sound like the PERFECT Cinco de Mayo photo op, I don’t know what does.

3. Block No. 16

 Get LOCO with the Block No. 16 staff at their Cinco Celebration! Join the “Revolucion:” Modelo specials, a Build Your Own Taco Bar, and LIVE MUSIC from Safety Orange! Doors will open up at noon with no cover. Experience everything you love about TJ without actually leaving the country!

In an April 2012 interview, GTD’s Ty Hauter explained, “I want to bring a little more character to the downtown area. The restaurant is patterned after an older, simpler time.”

With a full menu of hearty items like Build Your Own Breakfast Burritos and Award-Winning Reubens, Lucky’s has already proven to be an East Village staple, as well as a Good Time Design staff favorite. Enjoy a look back at all of the memories, and here’s to the many more to come!
