Al Fresco is BEST-o: Best Outdoor Dining in San Diego!

Is it just us, or do food and drinks actually taste better outside? In a city with such flawless weather patterns (75 and sunny AGAIN?), we San Diegans have the luxury of enjoying our food and beverages outside. So many al fresco options, so little time.

1. Southpaw Social Club

Located at 8th and J, Southpaw was named one of U-T’s Most Scenic Restaurants in San Diego! Enjoy some of their New American offerings in the backyard to Petco Park or grab one of their 36 craft beers on tap and take it to their side patio– complete with lawn chairs and astro turf! If you prefer to dine with a furry, four-legged friend, they have a front patio on the J st. side that is 100% dog friendly and perfect for some East Village people watching.

2. Bub’s at the Ballpark

The beauty of San Diego’s weather is definitely not lost on the city’s favorite sports bar! Bub’s boasts a wrap around patio that’s great for watching the game or pre-partying for the Padres! During football season, they’ll even wheel out some flat screens so you can enjoy the game AND get that Vitamin D. On weekends, Bub’s deck is home to their infamous Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bar!

3. The Blind Burro

Another al fresco option, The Blind Burro comes complete with an indoor/outdoor bar and wooden tables facing the street! There’s nothing better than sipping a cold margarita and enjoying the sights, sounds and weather of East Village. The outdoor patio is dog friendly, so bring your perros!

 4. Cat Eye Club

CEC has really stepped up their drink program with the addition of their brand new Tiki Cocktail menu! And where better to sip on one of these tropical delicacies than right outside on Cat Eye’s outdoor patio?

5. Lucky’s Lunch Counter

Last but not least, this old-school deli of your dreams has an outdoor counter for lunching in the sun! Grab their award winning Reuben and a frosty Root Beer Float right across from Petco Park!
